Van Doren Waxter is pleased to host two international galleries – Grey Noise (Dubai) and Maisterravalbuena (Madrid/Lisbon) as part of Condo New York 2018, on view at the gallery’s 195 Chrystie Street location. Condo New York, a collaborative exhibition by 47 galleries across 21 New York spaces, will take place from June 29 – July 28, 2017. New York galleries will host a visiting gallery (or galleries) by either co-curating an exhibition together or dividing the host gallery into different exhibition spaces. In 2016, Vanessa Carlos (Carlos/Ishikawa) founded Condo London as a way to offer international galleries a site for creative collaboration and exchange. It has since expanded to New York, Mexico City, São Paulo, and Shanghai. This year’s New York participants include galleries from across the world, from as far as Auckland, Dubai, Kolkata, and Pristina.

For Condo New York, Van Doren Waxter will host a special group exhibition with Grey Noise and Maisterravalbuena. The show will present five international artists and feature works on paper, paintings, and sculptural objects. The artists in the exhibition are Fahd Burki (b. 1981 in Lahore, Pakistan; lives and works in Lahore); Caetano de Almeida (b. 1964 in Campinas, Brazil; lives and works in Sao Paulo); Joana Escoval (b. 1982 in Lisbon, Portugal; lives and works in Lisbon); Néstor Sanmiguel Diest (b. 1949 in Zaragoza, Spain; lives and works in Aranda de Duero); and Maximilian Schubert (b. 1983 in USA, lives and works in Brooklyn, NY).

Condo New York is organized by Nicole Russo of Chapter NY and Simone Subal of Simone Subal Gallery.
